The City Council of Cartagena and the business representatives of COEC and the Chamber of Commerce have designed a new road map to advance the New Urban Plan, after the CARM have not approved the Transitory Rules.
This was agreed at the meeting that the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, held on Wednesday November 21 with the representatives of the employers of Cartagena and Comarca, where they discussed issues related to the Transitory Rules and the General Plan.
Specifically, the Town Planning technicians of the City of Cartagena have made a detailed analysis of the opinion that the Advisory Council of the Autonomous Community has made on the Transitory Rules.
This meeting comes a day after the meeting held on Tuesday, November 20, the mayor and the CARM, and in which the autonomous community accused the City of Cartagena of inactivity in obtaining a new General Plan for Urban Planning , an accusation that Castejón denied, clarifying that the "only responsible for this situation" are them.
The mayor explained to the businessmen, with the collaboration of the City's technical team, that the 13 actions that had been established could not be carried out, but that they will continue working on a new road map, where they will be studied on a case-by-case basis. and an attempt will be made to respond to each one of the actions through specific modifications.
The mayor thanked the work of the City Council technicians for a year for the approval of the transitional rules, although the "only for what has served is to demonstrate that in Cartagena you can talk about urbanism with professionalism and rigor", has added
THE EMPLOYERS, DISAPPOINTED
For his part, the president of the Chamber of Commerce explained that the feeling after knowing the details of the opinion of the Legal Council regarding the Transitory Rules is very negative, because "it closes all the doors of the future urban development of the city during the next five years. "
Martinez explained that both the Chamber of Commerce and COEC had defended numerous projects to generate wealth, jobs and expectations of economic growth, "that this report closes us", leaving as the only way out "the approval of a new General Plan".
According to Miguel Martínez, this report states that "in no way will the 13 projects that we had submitted to continue with the urban development of the city be subject to the Transitory Rules".
The president of the Chamber of Commerce, has indicated that employers are "very disappointed", and added that for the business class "the transitional rules are exhausted, and have died."
Finally, the mayor of Cartagena has announced that there will no longer be a dialogue with the general secretariat of the CARM, and that, therefore, it will deal with this issue with the president of the autonomous community, Fernando López Miras;
At the same time he has asked the president of CROEC, Juan José Albarracín, for help, to know "what he thinks of the urban situation in which the municipality of Cartagena is now", he concluded.
