The transitory urban planning norms of Cartagena continue their processing (20/11/2018)

The transitory urban planning regulations of Cartagena continue the process of instruction and approval, following the opinion issued by the Legal Council of the Region of Murcia, which clarifies the steps to be taken and allows for maximum legal guarantees.

This is the conclusion reached by the Technical Committee on transitory rules of Cartagena, composed of the City Council and the Autonomous Community, after analyzing the report of the Legal Council on the "exceptional" urban figure provided for in the new Land Law of the region.

The general secretary of the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure, Yolanda Muñoz, said that this opinion is "timely and convenient", since "it allows us not to take false steps in an unprecedented situation of application of the transitory rules in the Region".

Yolanda Muñoz recalled that this urban planning instrument, included in the regional soil regulations and unpublished to date, aims to "solve the blockade that means that the City of Cartagena does not already have a new General Urban Plan that gives guarantees of economic development to the city, after the judicial annulment of the previous one ".

"The regional government has put all the tools at its disposal to give legal security to citizens and companies in Cartagena," said Muñoz, who stressed that "it is crucial to have as soon as possible a tool to resolve the temporary blockade that implies for Cartagena lack of General Plan in force, but it is also key to have the maximum legislative guarantees not to return to the situation caused by the annulment of the previous plan ".
