The mayor of Equality, David Martinez, and the coordinator of the Department, María José Mercader, detailed Friday details of the campaign this Friday.
As Martinez has indicated, "with this campaign, we make a critique of contemporary representations of traditional masculinity: Macho, Machote.
And we can face the meaning of the RAE of the word MACHO and we ask ourselves, "Are you male by definition or by conviction?".
Carrying out campaigns like the one that has been presented today is still essential in our society because the figures of women murdered by their partners or ex-partners are still alarming.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, the film will be screened and the symposium 'You are not alone, Sara' will be held in the ETSIA Assembly Hall, on the campus of the Paseo de Alfonso XIII University.
On the other hand, during the weekend, Saturday 24 and Sunday 25, the Department of Equality will install an information point on gender violence, which will be located in the Plaza de San Sebastián.

On Sunday, November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, at 12:00 the protest demonstration will start from the Plaza de España to reach the Town Hall Square, where the manifesto will be read.
To close this program, on Wednesday, November 28, will take place the 'I Conference against gender violence', organized by the Degree in Criminology UCAM Cartagena and the Victimology Foundation with the collaboration of Degrees in Nursing, Early Childhood Education and Primary Education. the UCAM Cartagena, Department of Equality of the City of Cartagena and Ministry of Education of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.
