The exhibition 'Esencial, 50 años después', whose objective is to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of Antonio Oliver Belmás, founder of the Popular University in 1931, can be visited until December 20 in the Exhibition Hall of the Ramón Cultural Center Alonso Luzzy.
The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón and the councilman of Culture, David Martínez inaugurated on Wednesday, November 14, the exhibition.
In the act the mayor highlighted "the essential thing that for Antonio Oliver was poetry, as at the same time was essential in his life the Popular University, led by its endearing vocation for teaching and promoting equality among all citizens by spreading the Culture between the working class and citizens. "
Castejón also congratulated all the participating artists, who were almost present at the event.
Those who accompanied the mayor in the course of their works, explaining the reasons that had led them to the free interpretation of Antonio Oliver's Essential Poetry, which is the central core of the exhibition.
Thus the participating artists: Aisa Boaa, Aitor Coa, Antonio Ribelles, Beatriz Saura, Belén Orta, Cata Rsis, Cristóbal Barbero, Domingo Llor, Lola Nieto, María José Contador, Mateo Ripoll, Nicole Palacios, Salvador Torres and Virginia Bernal saw their excellent work.
In addition, the mayor had a word of thanks to Cristina Navarro, curator of the exhibition, as well as all the people who have collaborated in it.
The show is part of the programming of Poesía Deslinde Festival, which revolves around the Antonio Oliver Belmás International Poetry Prize.
