Within the commemorative events of the fiftieth anniversary of the death of illustrious Cartagena poet Antonio Oliver Belmás, founder of the Popular University of Cartagena, the Department of Culture and the Historical Memory Association, have organized a Painting Contest with the aim of bringing students closer of Secondary Education and Bachillerato of the municipality, the figure and the work of the poet.
The deadline for submission of works ends on December 1, and must be done at the offices of the Department of Culture, on the 2nd floor of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center.
The bases that govern the contest are the following:
BASES
1. Objective of the Contest
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the death of the poet Antonio Oliver Belmás, the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena and the Association of Historical Memory of Cartagena call for a drawing and painting contest for ESO and Bachillerato students in the municipality of Cartagena , with the aim of making known the figure and work of the great Cartagena poet.
2. Participants
All students enrolled in any Institute of the municipality of Cartagena may participate.
Two categories are established: ESO and Bachillerato.
3. About the proposals
The works must be original, unpublished and have not been presented in any other call
• The theme is the figure and work of Antonio Oliver Belmás, and the relationship of the work with the theme of this contest must be clear.
• The technique will be free, taking into account that the support material will be paper, of any kind, and the technique must be appropriate to it, in color or black and white.
• The size of the work will be:
DIN A4 for ESO students.
DIN A3 for high school students.
• Each student can submit a maximum of two works.
4. Deadlines
The reception of the works will be open from the public presentation of this call and may be delivered until December 1, 2018.
5. Delivery of Proposals
The works will be presented in the offices of the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena (second floor of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center).
They must be presented with escrow in a sealed envelope on the exterior of which appears the title of the work, which will also appear on the back of it.
Inside the mentioned envelope will be included, along with the photocopy of the DNI and student card, name and surname, Institute, postal address, email and telephone of the author of the work.
6. Jury
The jury will be composed of:
Representatives of the City Council
Teachers of Plastic Arts
Members of the Association for Historical Memory.
7. Awards
Two prizes will be awarded per category consisting of:
• First prize: A tablet
• Second Prize: A box of paintings
8. Exhibition
There will be an exhibition with the works presented at the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center, headquarters of the Popular University.
The jury's decision will be made public on the day of the inauguration.
9. Ownership of the work
Without prejudice to the reserves of the inalienable rights that the intellectual property legislation recognizes the author, the submission of the works implicitly implies the consent of the winner to assign the rights of reproduction, assignment, distribution, public communication without payment or consideration to the author.
Non-awarded works may be withdrawn within a period of 1 month from the date on which the exhibition is closed and the decision of the Jury made public.
10. Acceptance of the Bases
Participation in this call implies knowledge and full acceptance of these rules by the authors.
11. General
Any situation not foreseen in these bases will be resolved by the Jury in the way it deems most appropriate.
