Through scientific workshops, shows and shows, the aim is to contribute to scientific dissemination, in a fun and entertaining way, and to the creation of vocations among students.
It is expected that about 4,000 students of Primary, Secondary, Bachiller and FP of educational centers of Cartagena will pass through the scientific workshops.
The program includes other activities for all audiences such as the 'Nobel Women' exhibition, the 'Cinema, science and energy' cycle and guided tours on archaeoastronomy to the Roman Forum.
The Repsol Refinery in Cartagena and Fundación Repsol bring to Cartagena, following the successful experience of last year, a new edition of the Science and Energy Week, which will take place from November 19 to 23.
Under the slogan 'Have fun learning' different workshops, shows and shows on science and energy have been programmed for Primary, Secondary, Bachiller and FP students, which will take place tomorrow at the El Batel Auditorium.
Among the objectives of this initiative is to contribute, in a fun and entertaining way, to the dissemination of science and the future challenges of energy, as well as to awaken interest in scientific vocations.
Thus, Primary students will approach the world of energy through scientific workshops: "Oil explorers", "The race of the energy mix", "Transporting CO2" and "The puzzle of the circular economy".
For the students of 1st and 2nd year of ESO, a novelty is incorporated: workshops based on the Tinkering methodology that will take place on Thursday and Friday in the morning.
In the Tinkering with energy, students can create, learn and innovate to solve different challenges in which energy is the protagonist.
The objective of these workshops is to help them understand that all the energies are necessary and to reflect on the sustainable use of them.
The scientific show 'Science in a big way' will also be aimed at all ESO and Primary students, who will enjoy watching amazing experiments live in the main auditorium.
Activities for the general public
In this second edition, the Week of Science and Energy comes out of El Batel and the student world, with activities that, in the afternoon, are spread around different areas of the city center and are aimed at all audiences.
Among them, the exhibition 'Women Nobel', in the Cultural Center of Cajamurcia Foundation, a sample that honors the figure of seven outstanding women who stood out in their respective scientific disciplines and who throughout history have received the Nobel Prize.
The day of the opening of this exhibition will also take place the conference 'Investigator-A, the value of the A', by Celia Martínez Mora, scientist and researcher of the IMIDA and 8M Women Murciana Award 2006.
With the team of the "Bloopbuster" hunters of technological kits of the UPCT and the International Film Festival of Cartagena, the cycle of 'Cinema, science and energy' has been organized, which will analyze two classics of science fiction cinema, El Viaje Awesome and Back to the Future.
It will be in the Culture Classroom of the CAM and admission is free until full capacity is reached.
Archaeoastronomy also has place in this Week of Science and Energy, hence in collaboration with Cartagena Port of Cultures have scheduled two guided tours of the Roman Forum "Archeastronomy in Carthago Nova, excavation funded by the Repsol Foundation and that has already posted, on the two scheduled visits, the complete poster.
Finally, I could not miss the Energy Mix Championship.
A team game in which UPCT students will face a hypothetical energetic situation in which they will have to demonstrate their ability and creativity when managing the resources of a country.
Special mention deserves the scientific show 'Mission Cosmos.
Journey through the history of energy ', directed by the physicist and scientific disseminator Dani Jiménez.
Jiménez has worked in programs such as 'Órbita Laika' or 'El Hormiguero' and his different shows have been touring in different national stages.
It will take place on Friday the 23rd at 6:30 p.m. in the afternoon at El Batel.
