The FICC47 has broken down its programming this Friday, November 9, in its official presentation to the media, which this year changes its headquarters to the Municipal Auditorium of El Batel.
The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón;
the Councilor for Culture, David Martínez;
the Minister of the Region of Murcia, Noelia Arroyo;
the president of the FICC, Ignacio Ros and its director, Esther Baeza, have detailed the programming of the forty-seventh edition of the Cartagena International Film Festival.
One more year, the FICC47 has the official sponsorship of the City of Cartagena, "which has been betting on the festival since its birth in 1972", being the oldest film festival in the region and one of the oldest in Spain.
The mayor explained that the Consistory not only supports the festival economically with a budget of 70,000 euros -10,000 more than in the previous edition- but also cooperate by providing municipal facilities for different activities and projections.
For the first time, the FICC will host a large part of the festival's program at the El Batel Municipal Auditorium, after many editions taking place at the Nuevo Teatro Circo.
Likewise, the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center will be the scene of other parallel activities of the festival, free until full capacity is reached.
Cultural Councilman explained that from the Department that he directs has been working with the FICC throughout the year, as reflected in the section FICCMOTECA hosted by the Cultural Center.
The president of the FICC has advanced all the novelties of this forty-seventh edition, among which is the installation of a Film Container on the Port Esplanade, where winning short films of previous years and programming advances will be screened, in addition to serving as information point of the festival and sale of 'merchandising' products of the FICC.
For its part, the director of the FICC has been satisfied with the programming, despite being a complicated year for the festival after having lost one of its two biggest sponsors, "fortunately the City of Cartagena is still one of them."
According to Baeza, the FICC has managed to get ahead thanks to the support of the City Council and other sponsors.
For this reason this year the festival has cut its number of screenings, not reaching half a hundred, but as stressed by its director for nothing they have done in quality.
At the Cartagena Film Festival, he will screen, as usual, the most important novelties in international and national filmography, as well as showcase the best films that are shot in the Region.
