The city council of Cartagena will propose to the Cross of Artillery for the Sports Awards of the Region of Murcia, as announced this Thursday, November 8, the Councilor for Sports of the City of Cartagena, Manuel Mora, in the presentation of the XVII edition of the popular career.
The sporting event is open to both civilian and military personnel, organized by the Cross Artillery Sports Association in collaboration with the Antiaircraft Artillery Regiment No. 73 (RAAA) and the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena.
At the presentation of the same have come the technical director of the test, Francisco J. De Coig;
the chief colonel of the RAAA, Enrique M. Silvela;
the general director of Sports of the CARM, Alonso Gómez and the sports councilor of Cartagena, Manuel Mora.
The sporting event is one of the most veteran events of the 'running calendar' in Cartagena, which will celebrate its XVII edition on Sunday, November 18.
The proposal to qualify for the Sports Awards of the Region of Murcia has justified the mayor of Sports because the success of this test "is not the result of chance, but is the result of the magnificent organization" that both the Antiaircraft Artillery Regiment No. 73 as the Cross Artillery Sports Association, responsible for the "perfect" organization of the event.
In the presentation, the organizers of the popular race have shown that everything is ready to contest the test, without major changes compared to past editions except the disappearance of the Cross Canino and that the classifications will have a paper copy.
The race will have around 4,000 participants, the registrations to a day to close the term are already 3,500, arrived from different communities.
All of them will opt for one of the 104 trophies and 600 medals.
As a novelty, the most veteran runners will also receive trophies.
Those registered will be able to pick up their numbers, from Tuesday 13 to Friday 16 November, at the Corte Inglés sports center, while on Saturday 17 they will be available at the Military Government building.
The same day of the race, on Sunday 18, will be distributed on the starting line, up to one hour before the race.
The categories in this edition Artillery Cross have not changed with respect to the past editions.
As usual it is divided into different tests according to the distance to be covered, the age and the categories of the participants, such as: the Carrera del Faro, which has a route of 14 kilometers;
the Urban Cross, of 6 kilometers;
the Mile, for young people between 10 and 14 years old;
and the Quarter Mile, for children under 9 years of age.

In the presentation it has also been announced that, all runners will receive the bag of the runner with official shirt Artillery Cross, in the same bag will be distributed, in a random way, the gifts of the sponsors among which are: boxes of beer, wedges of cheese or tickets to an animal park.
The 104 trophies will wait for the winners of the tests to receive them in the act that will be done at the end of the race, in the Town Hall Square, in front of the Town Hall
