The students of Primary Education of the educational centers of Cartagena will visit, during the course 2018/2019, the installations of Local Police, Firemen and Civil Protection of the Park of Security, to know at first hand the routine of the local security bodies.
This Wednesday, November 7, have visited these facilities the students of first primary of the Carmelitas College of Cartagena, where they have learned basic safety tips that will help them to act in case of emergency, such as what number to call, the meaning of the colors at the traffic lights, the equipment that must be worn to ride a bicycle, what to do in case of fire or accident, among others.
The Local Police Víctor Navarro, who is in charge of receiving the children and accompanying them in their visit to the Security Park, has indicated that this program is organized by the Department of Public Safety, in collaboration with the Department of Education, so that Cartagena students know the daily work of Police and Fire.
Likewise, he highlighted the will of the Security Park to open its doors to educational centers, so that students from Cartagena know the daily and professional work of Police and Firefighters.
For his part, the professor of the Carmelitas School, Juan Antonio Vera, has indicated that from the educational center is transmitted to the students, through subjects such as Social Sciences, Mathematics and Language, aspects related to the environment they have, such as professions and respect for standards;
those of the school and citizens.
He also explained that these visits help the children have a much more friendly and close vision of the Police and Firemen;
and pointed out that after the trip, many children show their vocation to help others, put on a uniform, climb to the top of a tower and represent a security body.
The Department of Education has planned that around 1,800 school children from 1st to 6th grade of Primary Education 24 schools will make the visit to the Security Park during this school year 2018/2019.
