The classic bikes will roll again for Cartagena in the XLII edition of the Corpus Trophy.
They will do it this Sunday, November 11.
The urban circuit will have its starting grid next to the Auditorium el Batel, in Paseo Alfonso XII, at 10:30 am.
To present the race simulation of classic motorcycles have appeared before the media the councilor of the Sports area, Manuel Mora;
the president of the Moto Club Cartagena, Ángel Cánovas;
in addition to the vice president of the club, and organizer of the test, José Diego Serrano.
The Sports Councilor stressed that "the event in its XLII edition becomes a highly anticipated event for all motor lovers, especially for lovers of this two-wheeled sport that organizes with perseverance the Moto Club Cartagena".
Seventy pilots will participate in four categories: motorcycles up to 80 cubic centimeters (cc), up to 125 cc, up to 250 cc and more than 250 cc.
The race will have a route of 1.5 km, with a circuit of 600 meters, which will have to go 25 laps.
The exhibition will begin at 10:30 am, with an exit line next to the Batel Auditorium on Paseo Alfonso XII.
Mora explained that the event has the full support of the Department of Sports that, despite being an exhibition test, will establish all safety measures for both pilots and the public.
These measures will be the installation of fences along the route, pneumatic coverage or bales of straw, which will evoke the authentic urban races that were disputed until the end of the 70s. For its part, the Local Police of Cartagena will establish a special device of security, in addition, the tour will also have the necessary health care.
This edition honors two Cartagena pilots, Francisco García Pedreño 'Ital', recently deceased, and another prominent pilot of the city, José María Baena, who has attended the presentation of the Corpus Trophy.

The mayor of Sports has taken the opportunity to review the trophy that began in 1959 and became a scoring test of the Spanish Speed ​​Championship between 1974 and 1978. In it competed great figures of motorcycling as Ángel Nieto, Ricardo Tormo or Benjamin Grau.
