The Municipal Commission for Attention to the Homeless, chaired by the Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García, met on Tuesday morning, November 6, 2018, and presented the lines of action that will be put in place. march during the next year 2019.
As indicated by the mayor himself, since the beginning of this term the service has been restructured to give priority to pedestrians and people who are in a situation of exclusion.
"The priority of this City Council and the raison d'être of this commission is precisely to assist citizens who are in situations like these and seek measures to fight against the causes that produce them," said Garcia.
In the memory of the services provided, actions such as the campaign for the Cold Wave, the different actions carried out in the Monte Sacro stand out, as well as the daily and personalized attention offering resources and means in collaboration with social entities.
As regards the lines of action for the next financial year, resources and technical resources will be increased to strengthen attention, foster collaboration agreements with those responsible for the health sector, strengthen the leisure and free time offer for people in situations of residential exclusion, consolidate the relationship of the Consistory with the different collaborating entities and advance in the knowledge and detection of homeless or bystanders.
