The prestigious economist gives a lecture in the Faculty of Business Sciences of the UPCT in which he will advance strategies to maintain and get a job
José Carlos Díez, one of the most influential economists on the European scene, will analyze the impact of new technologies and globalization on employment this Thursday at the UPCT School of Business Sciences.
During his conference the expert will explain to the assistants how to prepare to access and stay in the labor market before the impact of new technologies, such as robotization and digital platforms, in a globalized world.
Considered one of the most influential and mediatic economists, Díez speaks at the Cartagena conference in the era of global technology at a time when global forecasts suggest that 34% of current jobs could have disappeared by 2030 due to automation processes and robotization, according to the study 'Will robots steal our jobs?', prepared by the consultant PwC.
And the OECD warns that Murcia is the Spanish region in which more jobs are in danger because of its high proportion of jobs with a strong routine component.
Díez is a professor of Economics at the University of Alcalá, directs the Water Economics Forum and chairs Global Economic Analysis, a company dedicated to international consulting on macroeconomic and financial issues associated with innovation and technology.
For nine years he was chief economist of Intermoney, from where he advised the main Spanish companies and financial institutions and participated with his forecasts in the panel of experts of the European Central Bank for the economy of the Eurozone.
The economist has just published 'From outrage to hope: building welfare Spain is possible' and has sold more than 75,000 copies of his previous books.
He is a regular contributor to national and international media such as The Economist, Financial Times, Bloomberg, Cinco Días, Reuters, CNBC, El País, El Mundo or Expansión and has a large following on social networks.
The conference is part of the Forum of Economy and Society of the UPCT and will begin at 12:00, in the Isaac Peral auditorium of the Faculty of Business Sciences of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
This activity is open to citizens.
This Forum has the collaboration of the Official Association of Economists of the Region of Murcia and the City of Cartagena.
