More than 500 runners disputed on Sunday, November 4, the Mar Menor Running Challenge.
A race in which the athletes Francisco Pedrero and Begoña García were imposed.
During the test, organized by the sports association Games Sport, in collaboration with the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena, the runners toured the landscapes of the coast of Cartagena.
The mayor of Sports, Manuel Mora, was in charge of giving the starting gun to the races of 5, 10 and 21 kilometers, which departed from Playa Paraíso to pass through the Lesser Islands;
Crystal Sea;
The Urrutias and Los Nietos, until reaching the goal located at the same point of departure.
Mora was also in charge of delivering the trophies to the winners of each category.
This test was consolidated in its second edition as one of the most important dates of the winter calendar when entering the official circuit of the VII Liga de Carreras Populares de la Región de Murcia.
The first three runners to cross the finish line in the 21 kilometres were Francisco Pedrero, who did it in the first place with a time of 1:17:21;
Antonio García who stopped the clock in 1:21:22 and Juan David Foulquié who finished with a 1:21:31 mark.
In the women's category, the first three classified were Begoña García, who led the race with 1:40:44, followed by María del Mar García, with a time of 1:52:02 and Isabel Lizan who occupied the third box of the podium with a time of 02:05:04.
