The Promoting Group of the Mandarache Project has selected Sebastián Mondéjar and his collection of poems La piel profunda to star in the Guest Regional Writer section.
Through this section, the Mandarache Prize invites each year a writer or writer from the region to participate, outside the official contest, in meetings with readers in teaching centers of Cartagena enrolled in the project.
Sebastián Mondéjar is a Murcian artist who defines himself as a jazz musician, as he is a well-known percussionist, but he knows very varied areas of creation: editor, illustrator, graphic designer, advertising creative, writer ... As a poet he has published five titles with one of which (The wandering garden) won in Cartagena in 1998 the International Poetry Prize Antonio Oliver Belmás.
In La piel profunda (Raspabook, 2017), which has aroused excellent reviews and outstanding reviews, the poet celebrates in his verses the life, music and pleasure that is to admire the simplicity and beauty that nature unfolds before us every day.
The City of Cartagena will make available to the school libraries of the participating Mandarache Prizes thirty copies of its collection of poems for reading, on loan, by students before encounters with the author.
The Mandarache 2019 Awards will be presented this Wednesday, November 7, at 11:00 in the Press Room of the Town Hall.
The mayor of Youth, David Martinez, will be in charge of offering the details and inform of the news, he will do it together with representatives of the promoter group.
