Ana Zapata went back to put on her dance shoes last March, when the Artistic Training Center that bears her name opened her classrooms with a new project and facilities according to the wide range that she has programmed to continue training young women promises of dancing in Cartagena.
And the director and manager of the training center, Ana Zapata, is a career and vocation dancer, who learned in different conservatories, studied at Cannes with Rosella Haightower and acquired skills from the stars of tablaos such as Julia Grecos , among other.
It is precisely this legacy, his professional career, that endorses Zapata.
The director of the school explains that dancing is her passion, so she understood that she should "move forward and grow at all levels, also in the professional, forming this training center in which both professionals and our dancers grow."
Zapata details that the help of the Local Development and Employment Agency (ADLE) was "essential" at this point.
When the manager and her partner decided to take a step forward and open an artistic training center, "the support and advice from the ADLE was decisive, because we needed a lot of information, especially in the legal field."
In Jiménez de la Espada Street, this Art Training Center opened its doors in March, where different disciplines ranging from Classical, Modern or Contemporary Ballet to Flamenco and Spanish Classical, as well as other more exotic ones such as Musical Jazz, Salsa, Argentine Tango or Oriental Dance.
The offer is completed with maintenance classes such as gerontogimnasia, yoga, pilates or zumba.
"Because our center is designed to accommodate people of all ages.
We have students from three years old ", says Zapata.
These students are grouped by age and level, those of younger age make up classes of about 20 students, as the age advances the groups are of a smaller number.
To teach and instill the values ​​of dance and art to all of them, Zapata has surrounded himself with a team of professionals specialized in each field.
Thus, the dancer Bárbara García, who is part of the Ballet of Cuba, teaches Classical Dance.
As a flamenco teacher, Francisco Bernal, instills his extensive knowledge in this discipline to his students.
Alfonso Cayetano, is a professor of contemporary and musical jazz at the Ana Zapata Training Center, after learning these skills at the National School of Classical Ballet.

Rosa Elena Nicolás, Adriana Da Silveria and Ana Belén Rosique, teach classes of Oriental Dance, Yoga and Pilates, respectively.
As Ana Zapata explains, the reception in these first months of activity "has been very positive", the registration period for the current academic year was opened a month ago and they have already posted the 'complete' poster in most disciplines.
During the Christmas holiday period the center is open to teach all students and there will be an open day so that families can visit the facilities and check the progress of the dancers during the first trimester of class.
Likewise, the Center offers master classes of all disciplines once a month.
These classes are held on Sundays in the morning, with the aim of reaching the largest number of interested parties.
The next one will take place on November 11 and is entitled 'Buleria para fiestas', and will be directed by Juan Ogalla.
