"The problem we still have with all those areas that do require a strategic environmental assessment, and therefore, are not linked to standards, for example, the expansion projects pending in the Valley of Escombreras amounting to 33 million euros ", explained the spokesman of Cs Cartagena.
Cartagena, Tuesday October 30-.
Citizens have defended a motion to urge the competent authorities to initiate as soon as possible the procedures of strategic environmental assessment for those areas not covered by the Transitory Urban Regulations that are not within the assumptions given in the recently approved Law of Business Acceleration.
In addition, the orange training has obtained the backing of the Plenary to request the Governing Council the definitive approval of the Transitory Urban Norms with which 100 million euros in urban development will be unblocked.
The proposal has gone ahead with the support of MC, PP and Cs, the abstention of the PSOE, and the vote against Podemos.
The orange spokesman explained in plenary session that the transitory rules are limited to the normal development of land that is already consolidated and provided it does not involve a transformation of the land that could have harmful effects for the environment, "the problem we still have with all those areas that do require a strategic environmental assessment, and therefore, are not linked to the standards, for example, the pending expansion projects in the Escombreras Valley amounting to 33 million euros ".
"For these projects, it is necessary to promote the strategic environmental report to make them possible," says Manuel Padin who has criticized the PP the strong delay it has with this, "the regional government should have put to work in this environmental assessment two or three years, at least since the PGOU was overthrown by the Supreme Court, but it mistook its strategy, first trying to make a strategic zone declaration impossible for the valley, and then trying to include it in the transitory rules, something that is not possible, and that the own Legal Council has not resolved in favor yet. "
"Between the inaction of PP and PSOE, Cartagena still does not grow and that is something we will avoid in Citizens, at least we will try."
As for the PSOE, Manuel Padín has acknowledged that it hurts to see how "so far the mayor of Cartagena has not behaved as such, but just as a mayor of the PSOE, at key moments for our future has not known to be at the height, and has preferred to bet on a campaign of electoral discredit of his party that for the interest of his land ".
"Citizens do not settle for unlocking 100 million euros in consolidated urban development, now we want to unblock the expansions planned in the Valley of Escombreras for 33 million euros," says Manuel Padín, who says that "there is no electoral interest that can get us to stop betting on employment generation and wealth in Cartagena.
