On October 8, the Municipal Government announced the execution of an asphalt plan in charge of "financially" sustainable investments, with a budget of € 300,000.
Among the asphalting works to execute were the rural roads located in the vicinity of the Torre de Nicolás Pérez, "La Víbora" and "Paraje de los Infiernos".
In the initial approval, by the General Directorate of the Natural Environment, the Plan for the Regulation of Natural Resources (PORN) of "Sierra La Muela, Cabo Tiñoso and Roldán", appear in the Management Report two articles related to the improvement and maintenance of the roads, these being the following:
Article 61.2, which indicates that the improvement of roads needs the authorization of the Ministry of the Environment, upon presentation of an environmental report.
Article 98.2, which indicates that the conservation and improvement of the road network should be informed by the Ministry of Environment.
From Podemos we do not deny that the rural roads of our municipality are conserved and maintained, but always respecting the ordinances, laws and regulations, which look for the conservation of the natural environment, that is why we consider that the Municipal Government must carry out the conservation and maintenance activities of the western area that are within the PORN.
Therefore, CTSSP will present a motion for the Plenary Session of the City Council of Cartagena to urge the Municipal Government to ensure that the maintenance and conservation works of the rural roads of the western area of the municipality are carried out always respecting the guidelines set by the PORN of "La Sierra la Muela, Cabo Tiñoso, and Roldan ".
That said measure also applies to all rural roads in the municipality that are under the influence of regulations protecting the natural environment.
They will also insist that the municipal government frame all their actions in respect of an area that is part of the Natural Protected Area and the Natura 2000 Network, and that the plan for the planned asphalting of the roads of "La Víbora" and the "Place of the Hells", and that proceed to the adaptation of the firm in a respectful way with the natural environment.
