The UNICEF Spain team has awarded the recognition of 'Ciudad Amiga de la Infancia' to the City of Cartagena for its defense of the fundamental rights of children in the municipality.
A recognition that serves to highlight the work done by the City, through the Local Childhood Plan.
Within the framework of this plan, it is important to highlight the integration and involvement of the different councils for the protection of Cartagena's children, as well as the coordinated work among the entities that work in the defense of the minor, and also the creation and implementation underway of the Municipal Council for Children and Adolescents, in which minors participate and become involved in the defense of their own rights.
"For this government team, people have been and always are a priority, especially those that may be more vulnerable.
Therefore, we work hard to ensure compliance with the fundamental rights of children in Cartagena, "said the Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García.
In addition, the mayor stressed that "we are very proud to receive this recognition that makes relevant the actions we are taking to improve the quality of life of children, although we are aware that there is still much work to be done" .
