The enrollment period in the last available places of this title proper of the Polytechnic of Cartagena concludes this Sunday
The Master in Industry 4.0 organized by the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII) of the UPCT began last weekend with a high number of enrolled in its first edition and more than 400 people following the retransmission by 'streaming' of the first classes, focused on the construction information modeling (BIM).
Students of this title of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena have been able to test a powerful laser for the scanning in three dimensions of large environments.
"In the second class of the master, we were able to test for the first time in our country the new model of the Leica RTC360 laser, which could be used by the students of this master obtaining points clouds for the generation of BIM models", stake Pedro Moreno, responsible for Digital Transformation in IDEA Engineering The UPCT has thus advanced to the official presentation in Spain of this technological tool, which Leica Geosystems will carry out next week in Seville.
The enrollment period for the last places available in the Master of Industry 4.0 concludes this Sunday, the 28th.
"This is the most complete master that can be studied in Spain on Industry 4.0, since it incorporates all the tools that we consider indispensable to be able to acquire a solid training to work in the field of digital transformation, such as the BIM models, the augmented reality, autonomous robotics and drones, additive manufacturing, Internet of Things (IoT), big data, cloud computing, cybersecurity, vertical and horizontal integration and business models in industry 4.0 ", explains the director of ETSII, Patricio Franco.
"This master has a very practical approach and focuses on the practical application of the contents, and is very adapted to the professionals so that they can combine it with their working hours." The classes take place on Friday afternoons and Saturdays on the tomorrow, and students can choose between taking this master's degree in blended or online mode, all classes are broadcast in streaming to the master's students so they can follow them at a distance and, in addition, the videos with the development of the class remain at your disposal in the virtual classroom to be able to consult them at any time ", comments the director of the Master, Antonio Guerrero.
Digitize an entire city

Thus, the first day of classes intervened María Pascual, of C95 Creative, the first study that has digitized a complete city using BIM models, the city of Ayacucho.
It is the first work of this magnitude, which has just been presented in Las Vegas and which has been publicly shown for the second time at the Polytechnic of Cartagena.
This master's degree is organized by the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII) of the UPCT and IDEA Engineering group, with funding and collaboration from the Ministry of Employment, Universities, Business and Environment of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, the Institute of Development of the Region of Murcia, the European Center for Business and Innovation of Cartagena (CEEIC) and the Official College of Industrial Engineers of the Region of Murcia, and is also sponsored by the multinational Leica Geosystems
The HOP Ubiquitous company, faculty of other UPCT centers and other collaborating companies also participate in the teaching of this master's degree.
