Going out now with a proposal to subsidize 30% the Building Tax in the marginalized neighborhoods of Cartagena, the purple party seems to be a real "tease".
From Podemos say that you just have to do accounts to see that this proposal is a simple patch to the tremendous problem that almost all neighborhoods in the municipality: any of the affected houses needs a comprehensive rehabilitation that costs at least € 30,000.
The building tax has the rate of 4% of the tax base, so the license would cost (30,000 X 4%) = 1,200 €.
Those € 1,200 are those that the Mayor proposes to reward "as a star measure" with 30%, and 30% of 1,200 euros are € 360.
For Podemos, subsidizing the residents of these neighborhoods with € 360 is not the solution to the problems of social exclusion and neglect that they suffer, because this will not allow them to have decent housing, nor will it improve the quality of life in degraded neighborhoods. for years in this municipality, because the vast majority of these families can never afford to pay € 30,000 minus € 360 for the sad bonus, for the rehabilitation of their homes.
For these reasons, Pilar Marcos, spokesperson for the municipal group, has asked the Mayor to stop teasing the neighbors and sit at a table next to the Government Delegate and the President of the Community to, once and for all. all and between the three administrations, guarantee the creation of a millionaire fund to really attack the problems of the marginalized neighborhoods, writing comprehensive rehabilitation programs that go beyond the houses and address the whole problem: infrastructures, services, presence of administrations, cultural and employment programs, etc.
For this kind of trickery, and for makeup measures that do not solve anything, is that PODEMOS will fail the management of the Socialist Government tomorrow.
In addition to the unilateral break of the agreement of the 40 points signed by the socialist group and CTSSP to support the investiture of the Mayor, the purple formation has advanced many reasons to fail the Government: its complicit and permissive policy with HIDROGEA and FCC;
the lack of a Municipal Energy Poverty Plan;
the absolute abandonment of neighborhoods and councils;
the commitment to process the annulled General Plan of the PP;
the oblivion of the general interest and the benefit to big businessmen, speculators and constructors with the approval of the Transitory Norms;
its disastrous policy on the environment (absolute abandonment of functions in issues such as El Hondón, El Llano, SABIC and pollution in La Aljorra, Alumbres and the Valley of Escombreras, the developments allowed in the Mar Menor, or the impunity that reigns with illegal dumps that proliferate throughout the municipality);
lack of transparency and rejection of the Investigation Commissions;
the abandonment of those affected by asbestos;
the continuity of the privatization policy of public services and personnel disasters;
the cacique ways in the Neighborhood Councils and the lack of a genuine decentralization and citizen participation ... In short, policies that benefit a few, the same powerful as always, and that dishonor the acronyms of the Socialist Party and place it on the side from the most rancid right, as are the PP and C's.
