The Popular University will hold this Thursday, October 25, the opening of the 2018/2019 Course, an event that will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Ramón Luzzy Cultural Center, and which will be attended by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón , and the director of the Popular University, José Macián.
The inauguration will begin with the intervention of the soprano Amber Kay and the pianist Javier Alcaraz, who will also act to close the act with the interpretation of classical works.
The opening speech will be borne by Luis Miguel Pérez Adán, chronicler of Cartagena, and will deal with "Images of the Cartagena of 1931, the year in which the Popular University was founded", being one of the first popular universities that were created in Spain, following the French model.
This institution, which is the Cultural Heritage of the City, continues to grow with the educational and cultural offer that it has programmed for this course, considering the interest of Cartagena and asserting its motto "UP, a space for everyone".
The students of the center are invited to the inauguration, as well as all the people who wish to join this event.
