After the announcement of the latest SEPES proposal, which undoubtedly improved the conditions for the regional government to acquire the Los Camachos site, the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has requested in writing both the president of the Mesa de la ZAL and Minister of Public Works, Patricio Valverde, as well as the secretary of the same and INFO director, Joaquín Gómez, who urgently summon a new meeting to adopt the final decision of signing the agreement with SEPES.
"The offer they have made is unbeatable and, neither the Autonomous Community nor of course the municipality of Cartagena, we can afford to let it pass.
The time is short and our goal is that the work of the first phase of the Logistics Action Area can begin at the beginning of next year, which is why it has requested the urgent convocation of the Bureau, "said Castejón.
The proposal of SEPES includes the sale of the 65,000 square meters necessary for the transfer of the Franco Warehouse to the Logistics Activities Zone of the Los Camachos Polygon, and the possibility of acquiring the remaining 205,000 square meters of the first phase in a period of 4 years, without having to pay anything and keeping the price of 10 euros per square meter.
As for the second and third phases, SEPES offers the regional government two options, either, after 4 years have passed, buy the whole land at a price of 10 euros per square meter, or establish a purchase option for a period of between 5 and 8 years, respecting the price and paying only a reserve of 1% of the total amount of land.
