The first Port of the Region of Murcia is the 4th in Spain in volume of total traffic, the first in export of live cattle and the first in traffic of bulk (liquid and solid).
Murcia, October 19, 2018 .- The president of the Port Authority, Joaquin Segado, has analyzed with MSC - Civil Society the strategic keys of the port of Cartagena as vital infrastructure of the Murca Region and has ensured that a new container plant competitive can generate 30,000 direct jobs and an immense development of Murcia's economy.
Cartagena is a leader in imports
The president of the Port Authority has also stressed that today 11 percent of goods receipts from all Spanish ports have arrived this year in Cartagena.
In short, eleven out of every hundred products that arrive in Spain do so through the Port of Cartagena.
This infrastructure is essential in regional economic development, as recognized by all social agents.
First in export and bulk
Segado has also exposed the strategic lines that have led to this exceptional infrastructure, being the 4th port in Spain in total traffic volume, the first in export of live cattle and the first in bulk traffic (liquid and solid).
The president of MSC, Antonio Martínez, has highlighted from the Port the innovation of the services and the competitiveness challenges that remain with respect to Valencia and Algeciras, the other major Medici ports.
