The facilities of the Old Club de Regatas have hosted this Friday, October 21, the presentation of a new Project for the Remodeling of the Dock of Alfonso XII, which aims to make the Port of Cartagena a more accessible space and a reference for leisure and tourism.
The budget for the project will be 2,700,000 euros and will be made in two different works: one worth 700,000 euros to improve accessibility;
and another of 2 million euros that will serve to act on the area that connects Cartagena with the cruise terminal.
The mayor has indicated that the hallmark of this project is accessibility, precisely at a time when the Award for the Most Accessible City is being disputed, at the same time as it has indicated that this new design will also represent an opportunity at the business for those who want to settle in the vicinity of the Alfonso XII Pier.
The first mayor has said that from the City of Cartagena will be made available the necessary facilities, as well as agility for administrative bureaucracy, where the Consistory has to participate with feasibility reports and licenses.
Castejón has taken advantage of his intervention to make a public acknowledgment to the president of the Port Authority that presented him this project for weeks, so he said that this gesture shows that when administrations work hand in hand, "who benefits is the citizens and the private initiative that may benefit when opting for these works ".
He also indicated that this initiative will mean economic growth and the provision of a wider range of leisure options to "say loud and clear that we have one of the best conditioned and accessible ports," he added.
Recently, the City Council has granted licenses in record time for the remodeling of the old building of the Chamber of Commerce in which the gastrobar will now be installed.
In the same way, it has granted licenses so that the works of the building of the Port Authority can begin.
All this with the intention that the infrastructures conclude at the same time and create a new leisure space.
SEPES FACILITATES THE START OF THE ZAL AT THE BEGINNING OF 2019
The councilor announced that, minutes before the presentation of the project began, she received a notification from SEPES confirming that the agreement could be signed, making the conditions as simple as possible so that the start of the ZAL of the Camachos can be carried out. at the beginning of the year 2019.
In this sense, SEPES has offered the Autonomous Community the sale of the 65,000 square meters necessary for the transfer of the Franco Warehouse to the Logistics Activities Zone of the Los Camachos Polygon, and the possibility of acquiring the remaining 205,000 square meters of the first phase in a period of 4 years, with no need to pay anything and maintaining the price of 10 euros per square meter.
As for the second and third phases, SEPES offers the regional government two options, either, after 4 years have passed, buy the whole land at a price of 10 euros per square meter, or establish a purchase option for a period of between 5 and 8 years, respecting the price and paying only a reserve of 1% of the total amount of land.
"I am very satisfied with the answer that SEPES has given to the subject of the ZAL of Cartagena.
It has made the conditions for buying the land in the sector so flexible that the CARM can no longer make excuses for not signing the agreement. "
