The veterans of FC Cartagena and the Hercules of Alicante will play a match on Saturday, October 20 at 11 am at the Estadio López Belmonte "La Esperanza" to honor Cartagena goalkeeper Sebastián Gómez, who died in June 2018.

The presentation of the event has been borne by the Councilor for Sports, Manuel Mora;

as well as the president of the Association of Veterans of Cartagena, José Manuel Ruiz;

and Ángel Gómez, brother of the honoree.

Mora explained that Sebastián Gómez stood out for his innate sports talent, "which developed in a humble area", arriving to play "thanks to his personality and bravery in the playing fields" in the National League in the 80s, the Hercules in the first division and in the FC Cartagena in different categories.

For his part, José Manuel Ruiz has highlighted the involvement of the Association of Veterans of FC Cartagena in the charity events and his passion to wear the city's coat of arms and the culture of team, humanity and companionship, qualities that according to Ruiz "embodied very good Sebas. "

Ruiz has indicated that when he went up to the first team, Sebas always approached the youth to give advice, and he regretted his death at age 61 because of health problems.

Mora has finally invited all fans and neighbors of Cartagena to join this Saturday, October 20, this tribute in which several family members and colleagues of Sebastian Gomez will also congregate.
