On September 26, the residents of Calle Escorial de Cartagena, parallel to Calle Mayor, filed a letter in the town hall's registry requesting the conditioning of the pavement and street lighting, as well as arranging the wiring, cleaning and disinfection of insects and rats.
The residents of Calle Escorial complain, and rightly so, about the image that is given of Cartagena "a third world city", as they commented to CTSSP The street is striking for the accumulated rubbish, the shattered tiles, the cables hanging , facades falling apart and poor lighting at night.
The difference between the adjacent streets of Andean, Cañon and Medieras seems to be unacceptable to CTSSP, differing considerably in the type of pavement, texture and significantly less maintenance.
For this reason the group of Podemos will ask in the Plenary if the city council has planned the conditioning of the extremely deteriorated and uneven pavement, as well as what arrangements it will execute so that it is not a poorly lit street and dangerous to walk at night.
In addition, the street does not have an effective evacuation of rainwater, due to the subsidence, lack of slopes and evacuation grids, another important deficiency that will also lead to the CTSSP group executive.
