Fishermen from various autonomous regions will arrive in Cartagena on October 21 and 22 to participate in the 'Cristo de Medinaceli Sport Fishing Contest', which celebrates its twenty-eighth edition and this year includes the novelty of celebrating the 'I Open National Marine Fishing Spinning From Costa '.
To offer the details of the sporting event, the Mayor of the Government Team, Carmen Martín, appeared before the media this Wednesday, October 10;
the president of the Club Pescadores Deportivos Albacora, Salvador Monteagudo and the member of the Organizing Committee, Sixto Monteagudo;
these last two organizers of the event, together with the Department of Sports.
The contest in turn is supervised by the National Fishing Federation.
Around 60 fishermen, from different communities, will participate in the 'XXVIII Cristo de Medinaceli Sport Fishing Contest'.
The contest includes the 'XVI National Open' and as a novelty, this year will also celebrate the 'I Open National Maritime Fishing Spinning from Costa'.
The councilor Carmen Martin has said that the City of Cartagena "as it can not be otherwise" has been supporting the sports activities organized by the club, while highlighting that these sporting events "value the city of Cartagena."
'I Open National Marine Fishing Spinning From Costa' will be held on Saturday, October 21, at the southwest breakwater of Escombreras.
This modality consists in the fishing with artificial lures with movement of cane to obtain the capture of the prey.
The 'XVI National Open' will take place on October 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., where the traditional children's sports competition with disabled people will be held, the collection obtained from the catches obtained in the competition will be allocated to the Hospitality of Santa Teresa.
