In this sense, the councilor and head of Sports of MC Cartagena, Ricardo Segado, has ensured that "despite this, nothing has done Castejón to force compliance because it has no ideas or initiatives on the future of this sports infrastructure" .

Also, Segado explained that "the Federation has been lurching for years with the installation, announcing macro projects that were decreasing as time passed, alluding to economic crisis and lack of investment."

Year and a half without attending the San Ginés EFB

Meanwhile, the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has not received the president of the Federation for nine months, José Miguel Monje Carrillo, and a year and a half without attending the requests of the directors and parents of the San Ginés Baseball School.

In this way, the mayor of Cartagena has said that "without meetings and without concretion, the club and all the young athletes who play in the World 82 continue to suffer the unfortunate state of facilities, which serve several decades without federal investment."

MC will continue to work with caution to solve these problems

Given these new information, Ricardo Segado has clarified that "from our training we are more than cautious." The Federation has for many years failed to comply with what it announces for this installation, and even violated the agreement signed with the MC Government in 2017. In any case, if it is true "it is a project that we should reject for not being focused on sports promotion, but rather to set up a private business on municipal land," said the councilor, who has also considered that "we would have to requalify these lands to adapt those uses to the General Plan of Urban Planning, when what the club and the San Ginés neighborhood really need, for their work in favor of the base sport, is the revitalization of this installation, reforming the bleachers , changing rooms, warehouses and offices, also installing artificial turf. "

Finally, Ricardo Segado has informed that MC will present in the next Plenary a new initiative to offer a solution, as soon as possible, to all these problems.

"We will demand that the government put the batteries at once and explain if it has concrete future plans for the World Cup 82 and explain them to the club.The City Council must already revert the land so that they return to being municipal," he concluded.
