The workshop `Lies, secrets and silences in the written literature of women' opens its registration period.
The activity will be taught next Thursday, October 18, and will be offered by the writer Laura Freixas, within the program 'Cartagena Piensa', the Department of Culture in collaboration with the Equality.
Laura Freixas proposes to start with a lecture on 'The mandate of silence directed to women in patriarchal culture', preceded by a reading workshop of several authors such as: Carmen Martín Gaite, Clarice Lispector, and María Luisa Bombal.
Both in the conference and in the workshop, some ways in which women have internalized or trying to break this prohibition of access to the word will be analyzed.
From the appointment of Saint Paul "women keep quiet in the church", to the lyrics of Kevin Roldán's reggaeton "I want a woman who does not say naaaa", the mandate of silence addressed to women, together with the disqualification of his word, it has been a constant of the patriarchal culture.
'Lies, secrets and silences in the written literature of women' will be held in the Tertulias room of the Josefina Soria Library of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center, on Thursday, October 18, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
The workshop is free, upon registration, with a maximum number of 20 participants.
Registration can be done in the mail
