The president of the Community, Fernando López Miras, received today in the Palacio de San Esteban the Cartagena Lorena Fernández, who next November will participate in the 4th edition of the 'Challenge Pelayo Vida Annapurna Bike 2018', after having overcome a cancer of breast.
Lopez Miras transferred to Lorena Fernandez "all the support of the regional government in this challenge", and put it as "an example of overcoming, strength and courage," said the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Miriam Guardiola, at the end of this meeting.
During this meeting, the president of the Community also presented him with a flag of the Region, which may accompany her on this expedition that she undertook on November 13, along with four other women who have also defeated cancer.
All of them will travel more than 300 kilometers on mountain bikes.
It is planned that on December 1 the participants will return to Spain from Kathmandu.
