The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and representatives of the family, will discover on Saturday, October 6, at the skate park of the Urban Sports Park on Carrer Carlos III, a plaque recognizing the heroic performance of the young man Ignacio Echeverría Miralles de Imperial, murdered in London in June 2017, when he confronted terrorists who tried to stab a woman and other bystanders.
The tribute was unanimously agreed by the Municipal Corporation and has been coincided with the celebration of the Urban Fest, which brings together all lovers of art and urban sports, such as skateboarding, of which Echeverría was a great aficionado.
In fact, it was on his skateboard that he quickly came to the aid of the woman who was being attacked by the terrorists, becoming an icon and an example for all the skaters.
The act, which comes to join the multiple awards received both nationally and internationally, will take place at 12 noon.
In the same will be by express desire of the family Echeverría MIralles de Imperial, in his representation, the friend and companion of Ignacio, Tomás Díaz Lago.
