The Roman Theater expands its schedule and opening day to provide the opportunity to visit the monument to those travelers who visit the city these days.
It will remain open on Friday, October 12, Columbus Day and Saturday from 10.00 -18.00, Sunday will be extended from 9.00 to 17.00, and Monday will be open from 9.00 to 17.00.
The visit lasts approximately 60 minutes and can be done by free, since the museum has an important amount of explanatory resources (panels, video, models, interactive ...) that allow the understanding of all the pieces and elements exposed.
You can also visit with an audio guide available at the reception desk in English, French and Spanish.
The museum route starts at the Museum, whose entrance is located in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento in front of the Consistorial Palace, and involves a journey through time through its exhibition rooms that culminates with the unexpected appearance of the imposing grandstand of the Roman Theater.
The Museum has the novelty of incorporating and linking buildings allowing the visitor to save a notable difference in height between the Port and the Theater.
Therefore, it is proposed as an itinerary from the sea to the high levels culminating the visit with the unexpected appearance of the impressive grandstand of the Theater.
This tour, in the words of Rafael Moneo, is about a musealized promenade.
THE THEATER THROUGH VIRTUAL REALITY
On Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 October, the "Virtual visit to the Roman Theater of Cartagena: new experiences" will take place.
A guided tour to the Museum of the Roman Theater of Cartagena with virtual reality that will allow you to immerse yourself, through virtual glasses, in the old building.
You can visualize in 360 degrees the theater as it was in its time, fly over it or see a small mime of the time, leaving at 11.00h from the Museum of the Roman Theater, price 10 euros.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
You can also visit the temporary exhibition that commemorates the 10th Anniversary of the Roman Theater Museum, the exhibition brings to the visitor what meant the discovery of the Roman Theater in one of the most depressed neighborhoods of the city, almost thirty years ago, also the recovery integral, a long, complex, but exciting process, as well as the ten years since its inauguration on July 11, 2008.
As well as the exhibition "La Mirada de Himilce", a tour, through the photographs taken by Juan José Ruiz Montoya and Juan Rodríguez Álvarez in different historical sites of the city, which brings us closer to various women who have given life at the festivities of Carthaginians and Romans to the princess Imilce, by means of a story that shows a woman of her time from the childhood, the preparations of the marriage, the motherhood and also the fears of the war.
The Museo Teatro Romano also implements its activity on this bridge with themed tours and visits in collaboration with Cartagena Puerto de Culturas.
Thus families and travelers can participate in the dramatized route "Temples, Goddesses and Much Theater", it will be lived next to a character of the Empire, the adventures of a Roman citizen, who will invoke the gods to achieve his dream: act in the splendid Theater of Carthago Nova.
It will begin its journey in the District of the Forum, where is the Temple of Isis, to look for the protection of the goddess and the pleasures of the Thermal baths.
We will gather forces invoking Augustus and we will arrive at the abode of art and spectacles, the great Roman Theater.

In addition you can make the routes "History with flavor", a nod to the cuisine and the Mediterranean diet, inspired by our classic heritage.
On the 13th the guided tour "One of Romans", in its journey will be known the life in a city of the Roman Empire, beginning the visit in the Museum of the Roman Theater.
We will discover how the citizens of Carthago Nova enjoyed the Termas and the luxurious banquets dedicated to the goddess Isis in the Barrio del Foro Romano.
At the end of the route, you can taste a dish inspired by the Roman cuisine of Apicius' book.

In the guided tour with flavor of the day October 14 "Cartagena Three Cultures", will be released medieval history and the confluence of the three cultures, Christian, Jewish and Muslim.
It will start at the Panoramic Elevator, arriving at the Castillo de la Concepción, from where the whole city can be seen.
The visit will continue along the Church of Santa María la Mayor until you reach the Museum of the Roman Theater.
The route ends with the tasting of a typical tapa of Jewish or Muslim cuisine.
