The 26 works, which compete to be the image that announces the Holy Week in Cartagena 2019, are on display from this Thursday, October 4, on the first floor of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center.
The work chosen by the jury will represent the Cartagena Passion Week.
The mayor of the Culture area, David Martínez, along with representatives of the Cartagena brotherhoods, have been responsible for opening this exhibition with 26 posters, which will remain open to the public until October 24.
The mayor of the Culture area has stopped to contemplate carefully all the works presented, and has pointed out that he believes that "this year there is a great quality".
Martinez also commented on the novelty of this edition, "not only photography could be used, but other techniques could be used, and in fact there are some posters that are paintings".
David Martinez has stressed the importance of choosing the poster that he hopes "is a success", since "must represent Cartagena and what our Holy Week means, which is so different from the others, and that's why it was declared of Interest International Tourist ".
The works had to be unpublished and the subject was obligatory the Grouping of the Prendimiento, holder of the Pontifical, Real and Illustrious Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus in the Painful Step of the Prendimiento and Hope of the Salvation of the Souls (Cofradía California), that crosses the streets of the city on the night of Holy Wednesday.
The jury, which will decide the winning poster, is composed of the president and secretary of the Board of Brotherhoods, five representatives of the Cofradía California and two representatives of the councils of Culture and Tourism of the City of Cartagena.
The works opt this year to the prize of 1,500 euros.

The posters can be visited on the first floor of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center until October 24.
Visiting hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
