On Thursday 4 and Friday, October 5, the 'Amphitheatres of Hispania in the 21st Century Heritage Days are held at the UNED headquarters in Cartagena.
News and proposals for articulation in current cities', organized by the City Council and UNED with the collaboration of the Universities of Cartagena, Murcia and Valencia.
The conference is part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, and includes lectures given by leading professionals, both archaeologists and architects, who will talk about the amphitheatres of Córdoba, Contributa Iulia in Mediana de las Torres (Badajoz), Segóbriga in Cuenca, the amphitheater of Carmona and the amphitheater of Astigi in Écija, to which are added the latest studies of the amphitheatres of Tárraco and Mérida.
The Amphitheater of Cartagena will also have a prominent presence, with an exhibition by the project's archaeologists, José Pérez Ballester, Mari Carmen Berrocal and Francisco Fernández Matallana, accompanied by the architect Andrés Cánovas, who will present the latest archaeological innovations, as well as the characteristics of the current intervention project.
In addition, during the morning of Friday a visit to the Amphitheater of Cartagena will be carried out, followed by a round table that will cover the site.
At the opening of the conference, this Thursday at 9.30 am, is expected to attend the Councilor for Culture, Education and Youth, David Martinez.
