The Prometeo Association is a non-profit organization that was created in 1996 to create a space where to promote the sociocultural and occupational integration of people with disabilities.
At present they have a Day Center in Torre Pacheco, an Occupational Center and a Special Employment Center (CEE) where crafts, gardening, cleaning and pottery workshops are taught as therapeutic tools for full labor and social integration.
In addition to these activities, Prometheus also operates in a Center for Child Development, Early Care, Vocational Training and Intervention Center for people with disabilities between 6 and 16 years.
In all these facilities offer service to more than 100 users and their families, most of Cartagena and its District.

The Prometeo board is looking for public support to extend its ceramic craft activity in this Pozo Estrecho volunteer center through workshops and courses.
As Citizens have learned, Prometheus has already sent the project to the City Council, and is currently waiting for municipal technicians to inspect their facilities located on the La Palma road to know their needs on the ground, the possibility of adapting some of the rooms that are in disuse and take advantage of the spaces to develop the proposed plan, or others.
"This is a very interesting occasion to study possible uses of a social or cultural nature for Cartagena, and the City must explore these possibilities, I hope the inspection occurs soon, and can move in this direction," said Manuel Padin after meet with the director of the Association, Sandra Martínez, and the treasurer Andrés Belluga.
Cs recalled that the relationship of this association with the City Council is well established;
so much so that one of the actions promoted by the local government for the call for recognition of UNICEF-friendly childhood cities has been the action "Create your Christmas nativity scene", where children became small artisans with the help of the Prometheus Association.
On the other hand, taking into account that Prometeo has a network of facilities in Torre Pacheco, the Municipal Group of Cs Cartagena has promoted a meeting between the directors of the association and the Parliamentary Group to analyze the possibilities that exist to support their social work.
The meeting will take place in the coming days.
