The Department of Heritage, the Association of Friends of the Municipal Archaeological Museum of Cartagena (MVSAEDOMVS) and the Archaeological Museum Enrique Escudero de Castro, call for the third edition of the Photography contest on archaeological heritage in the region, which is called 'Antonio Acosta Hernández ', in tribute to his first president.
"We all know that Archeology gives us material goods with a great historical, cultural and aesthetic value that give us back the essence of the civilizations that lived in each historical framework, that is why this contest is precisely about contributing to the dissemination of our vast archaeological heritage ", Pointed out Councilman David Martínez Noguera.
With this contest, and its subsequent exhibition, the objective pursued by its organizers is to pose a challenge to the photographer's gaze, so that he collects that essence and captures with his camera the aforementioned values ​​and that serves, at the same time, to disseminate the fabulous archaeological heritage that the Region has.
The first edition focused on the archaeological heritage of Cartagena and Comarca, but from the second was extended to the entire Region of Murcia.
The works, which must be unpublished and original, either in color or in black and white, may be presented until October 22 at the headquarters of the Municipal Archaeological Museum 'Enrique Escudero de Castro'.
The jury will be composed by professionals of recognized prestige in the areas of Archeology and Photography, and as for the prizes, there are three, the first one endowed with 500 euros and a trophy, which will be a sculpture by Fernando Sáenz de Elorrieta;
the 2nd, with 300 euros;
and the 3rd, with 100 euros.
The award ceremony will be held on November 16 at the Municipal Archaeological Museum.
