The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, met this morning with the head of commercial promotion of the Commercial Services Management East of Renfe, to finalize the new terms of the agreement between Renfe and the City Council.
Castejón has requested this measure, whose objective is to facilitate the celebration of Congresses in Cartagena.
The new agreement will establish that attendees and exhibitors who come to Cartagena for the celebration of congresses and conventions that have more than 75 attendees will have a 35 percent discount on the rail fare, both in one way and return tickets, as requested the mayor
Also, in the new agreement, Renfe will engage with the City Council to offer promotional videos of Cartagena on the Madrid-Cartagena, Madrid-Alicante and Madrid-Valencia routes.
These promotional videos will be sent by the City Council itself and will adapt to the events that you want to make known at all times.
In this way, the promotion of Holy Week, Carthaginians and Romans, Carnival or coastal tourism is facilitated.
Likewise, in the new document that is expected to be signed in October, Renfe will also make it possible to make weekend packages to Cartagena with discounts on train tickets.
Another novelty that will be included is that the agreement will state that on the Renfe website the web page of the City Council appears to offer interested travelers all the necessary information about the municipality and vice versa.
HYBRIDS
On the other hand, during the first week of operation of the hybrid trains, the number of passengers on the Madrid Cartagena line has grown by 16.5% and 1,600 users have used the new Alvia service.
