The City of Cartagena, through the concessionaire of the municipal water service, Hidrogea, has launched the 'Plan of special shock against the cold drop'.

From July until October, the company will complete the cleaning of 5,562 scuppers in the drainage network.

Hidrogea has intensified since July the preventive maintenance tasks of the drainage network of the municipality of Cartagena.

The objective of these tasks is to have the sanitary and rainwater collectors in optimal conditions, and to minimize the impact of possible episodes of rain that, repetitively, occur in the months of September and October.

With this crash plan, which will be active until the end of September, 5,562 scuppers of the drainage network have been cleaned, in order to guarantee a better evacuation of the storm water runoff during the rain episodes.

Likewise, in addition to the preventive maintenance of the 64 wastewater pumping stations of the municipality that is carried out throughout the year, this crash plan includes work to clean the pitchers, to avoid incidents of the installed electric pumps.

It should be noted that all critical wastewater pumping stations are monitored and remote controlled, so any failure or incident is detected instantly by the Control Center, which is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
