The City of Cartagena will invest a total of 850,711'37 euros in sports facilities in the municipality.

In fact, yesterday ended the deadline for companies to submit their offers to build a soccer field 11 artificial turf Pozo Estrecho, which opt for a total of 15 companies.

The project has a term of execution of 3 months so, if everything goes according to the forecasts of the government team, at the beginning of 2019 the residents of Pozo Estrecho will be able to enjoy this new sports facility.

The 11 natural grass soccer field that is currently located in the Rafael García de Pozo Estrecho sports center presents a very poor state, therefore, and to facilitate the development and security of the game by users, a new space has been projected free of obstacles at least 1.5 meters wide outside the sideline and 2.5 meters outside the goal lines.

The new playing field will have a perimeter security zone to the field of 2 meters wide and finished in asphalt.

In addition, the project includes the installation of state-of-the-art artificial turf, which will occupy an area of ​​98x65 square meters, although the total area of ​​lawn installed will be 102x69 square meters.

IMMINENT START OF THE FLAT FOOTBALL FIELD AND THE COVER OF THE ALJORRA SWIMMING POOL

In addition, the football field of La Palma, which has been awarded for 350,376'77 euros, will begin to be built the first week of October, so it is already enabling an auxiliary field for students of the Codelpa Soccer School of this deputation can continue training while the works last.

As for the replacement of the roof of the pool of La Aljorra, whose award amounts to 105,244'37 euros, work will begin imminently, in fact, this week has signed the act of redefinition of the work so, as soon as the company has all the necessary materials, they can begin.

The completion of the work is planned for before Christmas.

These three works are added to the construction of artificial turf football fields of La Aljorra and El Albujón, which are already at full capacity, and which confirms the commitment of the local government, which chairs Ana Belén Castejón, with the improvement of sports facilities in the councils of the northern area of ​​Cartagena.
