A wide and varied offer offered by the Department of Social Services.
The mayor and mayor of Social Services, Ana Belén Castejón, has announced this Friday, September 21, the activities aimed at seniors and people with disabilities that Social Services has scheduled for this fall (October, November and December).
Castejón explained that Social Services is intended to offer the group all kinds of activities.
The mayor of Social Services has emphasized that the courses and workshops are aimed at helping them "to maintain their physical and intellectual capacities in a way that can help prevent pathologies associated with age and the aging delay "
The program starts on October 2 with a novelty, the celebration of an open day for the International Day of the Elderly.
That day everyone over 60 years will have free access to all interpretation centers and museums of Cartagena, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
That same day there will be an intergenerational and solidarity march.
Another of the socio-cultural activities will be held on the 19th, 20th, and 21st of October, the Héroes de Cavite square hosting the X Fair of resources and services 'Femadis'.
There you can see exhibitions and demonstrations of the work and activities carried out with clubs and senior centers, in addition to the traditional gastronomy sample.
This fall the workshops and courses continue to have a great weight in the programming such as: reading 'Tuesday with book, dance' Dances of the world ',' Take care of your health through mental exercise, 'Diet and prevention of diseases,' Aging, a healthy value ', among others, until reaching the score.
The activities will be developed in the elderly clubs, associations of people with disabilities and centers for daytime stays.

For the most active older people, every Wednesday different routes have been programmed through different natural areas such as: La Atalaya, La Unión mines, Cebas ravine, La Muela and Puntas de Calnegre, among others.
Another of the most anticipated activities and demands by the elderly are the thermal offers.
This fall, Social Services has organized one for the Entremares hotel, another for the Archena spa and a third for the Cofrentes spa.
Castejón also wanted to highlight the great work that is done for the Cultural Week of the Senior Clubs with: exhibition of works, rondallas, theater, talks, musical performances and cultural visits among other activities.
Finally, the program also includes volunteer activities in which to transmit knowledge from one generation to another with three different experiences:
Combínate Program: Volunteer Program to accompany people with problems of loneliness and dependency and computer support.
The trunk of the experience: The Baúl de la Experiencia is a project by which older people pass on their knowledge, in different subjects, to other seniors through courses and workshops.
Shared housing: University students, help elderly people in different tasks of accompaniment inside and outside the home, in exchange for free accommodation.
