Since 1980, Paco Martín, recently deceased, has directed and programmed all the editions of the Cartagena Jazz Festival.
This year, the festival celebrates its 38th edition with the latest program that Martin made.
Since the Department of Culture has respected everything and as left by its founder.
In order to pay tribute to Paco Martín, the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, was invited to appear at the Cartagena Jazz Festival;

The mayor has begun the presentation with a few words of remembrance to Paco Martín "I wanted to appear because it was fair to give this humble tribute and public recognition to the great promoter and creator of this great festival."
Then Castejón has made a review of the great professional career of Martin and the festival of the Cartagena Jazz Festival, which he thought and which is one of the longest lived in the Region of Murcia.
The councilman of Culture, David Martinez, has stated that from the Department that he directs has been respected everything and as left by its founder.
The festival, which will be held from November 2 to 24, has a sign "as you saw last week and you can see now that he remembers the figure of its creator", commented Martinez, before giving way to detail the programming.
