The Department of Education maintains its wide range of educational programs, adding to the next school year 2018-2019 some news.
'The School Garden', the 'Astronomy Workshop', the 'Visit to a Desalination Plant', the 'Visit to a Treatment Plant', and the 'First Aid Workshop', are some of the new additions.
The activities of the 'Children's Plenary Session' and the 'Viewing of silent film icon' are also added to the programming.
The Councilor for Education, David Martinez, has presented to teachers, this Wednesday, September 19, educational programs for the next school year, while he has released the new website of the Department, more intuitive and dynamic to facilitate access to all information related to school dynamics.
Martínez has explained in detail all the topics of the educational programs. Thus, the environmental issues such as the Mar Menor, Galifa, Monte Roldán, Aqualogía, Huerto Pío and Mina Matildes, in collaboration with the Sierra Minera Foundation, maintain their offer and format.
The mayor of Culture has also detailed the program 'The Three Erres', that this course varies its offer and offers three options: Visit the Ecopark, Visit to the Urban Solid Waste Plant and Joint Visit to the Urban Solid Waste Plant and Ecopark
The mayor of Culture has pointed out that "in this way complements this program knowing first hand what is the treatment received by domestic waste in the plant."
NOVELTIES
On the other hand, the offer of programs related to the environment is enriched by 'El Huerto Escolar', which will have two options: 'El Huerto relocates to the School' and 'Ecohuerto'.
The first, directed by Huerto Pío monitors, will deal with topics such as ecological compost, irrigation and methods for their saving, fauna and organisms that help to have a land rich in nutrients.
For its part, the option 'Ecohuerto', directed by staff of the Ecohuerto Los Cortijos Association and specifically for those centers that already have School Garden, will carry out in the orchards of the centers sowing seeds, plant transplant, irrigation and other activities related to this activity.
The 'Astronomy Workshop' is another of the novelties of the educational programs.
It will be held at the Astronomical Center of Cartagena and will be directed by its staff.
This activity begins with an introduction to astronomy followed by a visit to the planetarium and an observation in the domes.
With the offer of 'Visit to a Desalination Plant' and 'Visit to a Treatment Plant', environmental programs are completed.
The desalination plant located in Isla Plana will be visited, where the entire process will be explained by the center's staff.
The visit will be to the treatment plant located in Cabezo Beaza, the tour will be complemented with bird watching in the existing lagoons, in collaboration with ANSE.
With the 'First Aid Workshop' a demand from the educational community is addressed, who wanted to know how to act in emergency situations.
The workshop is directed by professionals of the University School of Nursing and will offer the minimum knowledge that every citizen must possess to act in emergency situations.
The programming that includes the aspects of Citizen Culture and Values ​​will be reinforced also with the 'Visits to the Arsenal of Cartagena', and the Modernistic Didactic Itinerary.
ARE INCORPORATED PERMANENTLY
The activity 'Children's Plenary' is incorporated into the programming on a permanent basis, once it was carried out as a punctual activity during the past year being evaluated positively by the participants.
This course will be four colleges that will carry out this activity.
Likewise, given the success that this activity had during the past year when it was carried out in a timely manner, there will be a broader periodicity of 'The viewing of films silent film icon', with live music as they were conceived, is a pleasant and enriching experience for the students.
VETERAN PROGRAMS MAINTAINED
The veteran programs related to theater and music maintain their formats and offer, since they were modified and reinforced last year and have been widely accepted.
The visits to the different museums of the city and the program of 'Trovos en la Escuela' were also subject to minor modifications and remain in this new programming.
The programs that have been maintained have had a very positive evaluation among the educational community, highlighting the current sessions of 'La Policia Educa', which have dealt with current issues such as cyberbullying, bullying or social networks.
ACTIVITIES IN NON-LECTIVE PERIODS
The 'leisure and free time programs', which take place during non-school periods, will maintain their offer with the 'summer schools with dining', the 'musical colonies' and the 'sailing workshops', which are held with the collaboration with the Club de Regatas of the city.
Finally, the council has encouraged all schools to participate in specific actions that are made from the Department such as: the march of the School Carnival, Children's Day or the Week of Science and Energy in Cartagena.

Step by step the teachers have been able to verify how the application of the educational programs should be made.
