The degree of Tourism can be studied again in Cartagena with bilingual teaching and public prices, this time taught by the Polytechnic.
The degree starts this month with the unanimous support of the City of Cartagena and the rest of the institutions of Cartagena and its region, all of them gathered to create eight study bags that help new students, with an amount similar to the cost of the enrollment of 862.80 euros.
This Tuesday, September 18, has been the signing of the declaration of intentions to subscribe this agreement for the promotion of tourism quality in the region of Cartagena, which will consist of the award of the eight scholarships for students who take the Official Degree in Tourism in the UPCT, and that will be awarded according to parameters of academic quality and also of income.
The rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), Alejandro Díaz;
the mayor of the City of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón;
the president of the Port Authority, Joaquín Segado;
the president of COEC, Pedro Pablo Hernández;
the president of Funcarele, Miguel Martínez, the president of the Agrup Hotel group, Juan Carlos García;
and the dean of the Faculty of Business Sciences, Miguel Ángel Tobarra.
The signature of the definitive agreement will be effective in a few weeks, when the Governing Councils of all the companies and entities detailed above approve the signature of said agreement.
The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has said that the City of Cartagena, within the powers that it has, will collaborate with these scholarships, "we will be there, helping in these scholarships through the Department of Tourism and Cartagena Port of Cultures Consortium ".
In addition, Castejón has emphasized the need for tourism to be held in the city because "Cartagena contributes 70% of regional tourism."
For his part, the rector of the UPCT, Alejandro Díaz, has declared the importance of recovering the degree of Tourism in Cartagena, "it is one of the few times that everyone agrees, and it is very important to encourage enrollment since the approval of the degree did not arrive until July and until now it has not been possible to accede ".
The registration period opens this Friday and ends on September 28.
The degree in Tourism responds to the growing demand for qualified professionals in the different areas of this sector.
Students interested in pursuing this degree in the UPCT can make their enrollments in the open period in September, with a cost of 862.80 euros.
The 50 places offered will train qualified professionals with the peculiarity that the subjects are taught in two languages: Spanish and English, being also mandatory to study a third language: French or German.
