City of Cartagena, Port Authority, Funcarele, COEC and the Hotel Association committing aid for the amount of registration, 863 euros, for the promotion of tourism quality
The renewed degree in Tourism in the Polytechnic, with bilingual teaching and public prices, starts this month with the unanimous support of the institutions of Cartagena and its region.
The City Council, the Port Authority, the Funcarele Foundation, the COEC and the Hotel Association have committed, in a declaration of intentions signed today at the Rector of the UPCT, eight study pockets to help new students with an amount similar to the cost of the registration, 862.80 euros.
"The Cartagena society, and particularly its companies, have appreciated the strategic role of studies in Tourism," said the rector, Alejandro Díaz, thanking also the support for the implementation of the title of the Autonomous Community and the University of Murcia.
"It is one of the few times that everyone agrees and it is very important to encourage enrollment since the approval of the degree did not reach until July and until now it has not been possible to access," he added.
The registration period opens this Friday and ends on September 28.
"It is crucial that in Cartagena there are people trained to increase tourist quality," said the dean of the Faculty of Business Sciences, which is going to impart the new degree, which offers 50 places of first year.
"It will be a quality education, with bilingual teaching in Spanish and English and students will also be trained in a third language, French or German," he specified.
"Entrepreneurs need the best professionals," said Miguel Martínez, president of Funcarele and the Chamber of Commerce, before praising the UPCT's internationalization, which this quarter has received some 250 foreign students, coming from four continents
"Tourism is very important for the creation of wealth," said Pedro Pablo Hernández, president of the cartegenera employer association.

In the same sense, the mayor of the city, Ana Belén Castejón, has remarked that "Cartagena contributes 70% of regional tourism" and recalled that the City already offers scholarships for students of Tourism.
Among the professional outings for graduates in Tourism are positions of responsibility in accommodation companies, travel agencies and tour operators, airports, airlines, companies of leisure management and tourism activities, tourist information offices and tour guides or tourism development agencies .
Scholarships for Mineral Resources and Energy Engineering
It should be remembered that the Official College of Engineers and Degrees of Mines and Energy for the East-South of Spain also offers scholarships for the first ten students who enroll in the degree in Engineering of Mineral Resources and Energy of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) ).
