One more year, the Cultural Association 'Ahora Teatro' of La Palma, announces the 'Contest of Comedies', which this year celebrates its XXI edition, which will take place in the month of February 2019. The inscriptions, which are already open, may be presented until next December 7.
The contest is aimed at theater groups, companies and associations nationally and internationally.
As the president of the 'Ahora Teatro' association, Francisco Rodríguez, points out, "we encourage you to take part one more year, presenting some of your productions, to contribute to the survival of La Comedia that makes the public so enjoy".
Those interested in participating in the 'La Palma Comedy Contest' must attach the registration form, which is attached to this notice, duly completed;
a DVD about the total development of the work;
the history of the company, group or association, as well as press criticism about the show and photographs;
the description of the set design;
the script of the show;
and the hand program.

The organizing committee will select three shows for the final that will take place in the Assembly Hall of the Civic Center of La Palma.
The selected assemblies will be presented before the public and jury on Friday 15, Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 February 2019. The closing and delivery of prizes will be on Saturday, February 23.
On the other hand, the texts to be represented will be by authors of any era or their own creation.
The performances can also be monologues, whose only indispensable character is that it is a comedy and has a minimum duration of 60 minutes in Spanish.
The three groups selected for the final will have financial assistance to cover expenses for diets and travel.
The economic allocation will be legal in the delivery of prizes and will be agreed taking into account the place of origin of the company, group or association.
Thus, for participants whose corporate name is located more than 500 kilometers from the venue of the contest will be allocated 1,200 euros.
And for those participants whose corporate name is located 500 kilometers or less from the venue of the contest will be 900 euros.
In addition, the jury will award a prize to the best leading actress, best leading actor, best supporting actress, best supporting actor and best direction.
