The City of Cartagena, through the Department of Infrastructure, is working on the cleaning of ramblas and plots to avoid collapses due to accumulation of waste and weeds during episodes of torrential rains, as reported by the mayor of the area, Juan Pedro Torralba.
The State Agency of Meteorology has activated the yellow warning, which means risk for rains and storms for this Saturday, September 15, throughout the Region of Murcia.
The Department of Infrastructures has begun this week the cleaning of the channels of the municipal ramblas for which required the authorization of the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura.
In fact, today the work in the ravine of Benipila has been finished and the beginning of the cleaning work of the ravine of El Algar is scheduled.
The ramblas for whose cleaning and adaptation the CHS gave the green light last week are the Rambla del Miedo, Las Matildes, Ponce, Rambla de las Caveas, Carrasquilla, Valdelentisco, El Albujón rambla, El Hondón rambla and Rambla de Benipila
The work that the municipal technicians are developing is aimed at avoiding collapses due to the accumulation of waste and weeds during episodes of torrential rains.
"This week has begun to work in the boulevards of the municipality that depend on the CHS but since June the City has been cleaning and clearing the so-called urban stretches, which are those that depend exclusively on us", said the mayor Juan Pedro Torralba.
YELLOW NOTICE FOR THUNDERSTORMS AND RAINS IN CARTAGENA
The yellow warning for storms and rains that can reach an accumulated precipitation of 20 millimeters in an hour will be active from 8:00 am on Saturday both in the Vega del Segura, the Campo de Cartagena, Mazarrón, Northwest, Guadalentín Valley, Lorca and Águilas, as in the Altiplano region.
The notice has a probability that ranges between 40 and 70 percent and will conclude, official time, at 00.00 hours on Sunday.
