The Cartagena delegation of Molinos Marfagones finalize the details to celebrate this Saturday, September 15, its VIII Cross Duathlon "Andrés Bermejo Memorial", organized by the Sports Club Soledad in collaboration with the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena and the Federation of Triathlon of the Region of Murcia.
The presentation of this event, which will involve some 1,000 athletes from across the region, has been led by the Councilor for Culture, Education and Youth, David Martínez Noguera, and the technical director of the competition, José María Navarro.
The mayor of Sports has described this test as "a classic September" and is included in the regional duathlon cross circuit, while ensuring that participants will enjoy during the race a nice tour of the natural surroundings of Cartagena West and the deputation of Molinos Marfagones.
The tests will start next to CEIP Azorín, Molinos Marfagones, facilities that the Department of Education has made available to the sporting event.
The day will begin at 4.30 pm with the departure of the prebenjamines and benjamines categories, of a non-competitive nature;
and will follow the departure of fingerlings at 5:00 pm;
of junior at 17.30, and at 6.30 pm is scheduled to start the absolute race.
The councilor has indicated that both the Department of Sports, as Local Police, the Civil Guard and the Center for Sports Medicine have organized all necessary means for the competition, so that the tests pass without incident.
Thus, the prebenjamín and benjamin test, which will not be competitive, will consist of a 500-meter race, 1,500-meter bike and 250-meter race.
Next, the juvenile category race, 1,000 meters of race, 4 kilometers of bicycle and 500 meters will be held;
and the test for athletes of infant and cadet categories will be 2,000 meters, 8 kilometers and 1,000 meters.
The route for the absolute test is of 5,000 meters of race, 19 kilometers in bicycle and 2,250 meters of race.
