The port of Cartagena will be the scene on Saturday September 22 of the XXXVII Crossing to Puerto de Cartagena, organized by the City of Cartagena through the Department of Sports, the Club Natación Cartagena Cartagena Ancora, the Feast Federation of Carthaginians and Romans and the Swimming Federation of the Region of Murcia.
The presentation of the sporting event has been carried out by the councilor of the area of ​​Culture, Education and Youth, David Martinez, who has been accompanied by the vice president of the Swimming Federation of the Region of Murcia, Margarita Domínguez;
and the swimming expert, Francisco Domínguez.
More than 200 swimmers will participate in this competition for the Regional Open Water Circuit, which has the peculiarity of being held inside a port.
2 courses have been established for this test, one for the prebenjamín, benjamín and alevín categories, which will have a distance of 600 meters;
and another, for swimmers from Infant category onwards, which will cover a distance of 2,000 meters.
The test for the little ones will leave at 10:30 am on Saturday morning, while the swimmers of the other categories will leave at 11:30 am.
There will be 3 trophies for each of the 21 categories that have been set.
Francisco Domínguez has indicated that this is the only test at a national level that can be viewed from its beginning to the end due to the particularity of the location where it takes place, besides that a date has been set in which there are no cruises for the public can have visibility
In the race, which will start from the Real Club de Regatas de Cartagena, swimmers from other parts of Spain will compete, as well as from all parts of the Region, who come to this event as well as from the competitive interest for the spectacular scenario in which it develops.
The vice president of the Federation of Swimming of the Region and European Champion in Open Water has indicated that this is a date indicated in its calendar because of the importance that this competition has for the swimmers who are part of the Club Natación Marina Cartagena.
"For us it is a feeling that we have included as swimmers that we have represented the city and we have a special appreciation," he concluded.
