The Local Government Board, meeting this afternoon, under the presidency of the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has agreed to award the contract for the conservation and improvement of gardens and trees in Cartagena to the UTE formed by ACTUA and ACCIONA, for a term of two years, extendable by two others.
The award was made at the proposal of the hiring desk that determined this offer as the most advantageous of the 18 companies that had attended the tender and after the report issued, at the request of the Board of Government, by the head of the Service of Parks and Gardens, who detailedly analyzes and concludes the technical feasibility of the improvements proposed by this UTE and especially in regard to the supply and annual planting of more than four million plants of different species in the more than 1.2 million square meters of green areas and gardens covered by the contract.
The total amount of the award amounts to 9,294,100 euros, including VAT, with a total bag of hours for extraordinary work of 111,920 hours, both figures referring to the two years of validity of the contract.
JOSE SERRANO, NEW DIRECTOR GENERAL
The Governing Board has also agreed, at the proposal of the mayor, the appointment of José Serrano Segura, as general director of Public Employment, New Technologies and Innovation.
This is a freely appointed executive position that will be performed by a municipal official with extensive experience in the field of Human Resources.
José Serrano holds a PhD in business management from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena and a degree in Labor Sciences and a Social Graduate from the University of Murcia.
He is also a graduate in Human Resources Management from the National Institute of Public Administration (INAP), with more than twenty years of experience in human resource management, having held the position of Head of Human Resources at the City of Cartagena.
To this he adds his teaching as associate professor of Human Resources in the UPCT and the ISEN center, as well as in training schools in several autonomous communities and municipalities.
He is also the author of the book "The new public management of human resources in the municipalities", published in 2016.
His areas of responsibility with delegated powers in the City of Cartagena will be Human Resources, New Technologies and Innovation, General Services and Statistics and Population.
HOURS FOR FIREFIGHTERS AND BRIGADES
The Governing Board has also approved a budget modification amounting to 206,000 euros that will be used to cover the overtime of the services of fire brigades and municipal brigades during the next months, until the end of the year.
AGREEMENTS AND SUBSIDIES
The Board has also given the green light to a series of agreements and direct subsidies to various entities, mostly from the cultural sphere.
This is how an agreement with the La Caixa Foundation has been approved for Cartagena to host an exhibition on the street in the street with works by the well-known Brazilian photographer Sebastiao Salgado, called Génesis.
In the subsidies section one of 17,000 euros has been approved by the Asociación Acción Familiar within the framework of the Municipal Plan on Addictions and Drug Addiction.
Likewise, a subsidy of 9,000 euros has been approved for the Brotherhood of Romeros de San Ginés;
another two of 4,000 euros for the Friends of the Zarzuela de Cartagena and the Peña Flamenca Antonio Piñana;
another of 35,000 euros for the folk group Ciudad de Cartagena de La Palma and another 40,000 for the programming of the Teatro Circo Apolo in El Algar.
Lastly, and among other matters, the 45 resolutions handed down between July 11 and September 7 in the Area of ​​Quality of Life and Welfare, which includes 22 environmental sanctions with fines amounting to 42,823 euros, have been reported.
