According to Ana Rama, "Cartagena has only one canine park to serve a population of 217,000 inhabitants with a municipal area of ​​more than 584 square kilometers, without an updated municipal census that allows calculating the number of facilities and infrastructures necessary to satisfy the rights of the owners of animals. "

For the mayor of Ciudadanos, "in the absence of updated census, I think I'm not wrong if I say that, at least, Cartagena needs a dog park in the east and west, not only to offer this service during the summer but all the year, and of course in the area of ​​Los Dolores and in the same Historical Center ".

Ana Rama believes it is necessary to remember today that the Government of Cartagena, through Francisco Calderón, assured in November 2016 that four parks would be set up that year, as well as in the Parque de la Rosa, in the Barriada Virgen de la Caridad, Morería Baja and Parque Rafael de la Cerda, "like so many other things that were announced by the PSOE-MC coalition, little or nothing is known about this project, which is fundamental to winning coexistence, public safety, and animal welfare" .
